This encounter was the second meeting between these teams in a fortnight
colts trying to follow up there 2-0 victory over the easter break both teams started brightly with halsall going close in the openining exchanges before colts seemed to get to grips with the great off ball movement from Halsall colts moved the ball wide which James Unsworth looped a cross into the box for peter seddon tohead the ball home and open his account five minutes later james Unsworth again got hold of the ball and sruck a sweetly hit shot from 30 yards into the top corner to make it 2-0 colts kept pressing when captain sam oscroft was brought down in the box after a determined run round several Halsall players which he got up to take the penalty which was superbly saved by the Halsall Keeper only for oscroft to slide home the rebound to make it 3-0 at half time
Halsall came out all fired up as expected and and pushed a sloppy hesketh colts back Halsall got there just rewards with a well taken strike to make it 3-1 colts looked nervous for the following 15-20 minutes until James Unsworth again unleashed another 30 yard drive into the top corner to settle colts nerves and make it 4-1 colts again started to work hard and finally finished the game off with a well taken strike from peter Seddon for his second to make it 5-1 This game was closer than the scoreline says and all credit goes to both teams who played this game how football should be played in good spirit
This was a true team performance and a well deserved victory congratulations to everyone next stop Haig Avenue
